D.J. CAULFIELD D.J. Caulfield’s professional life can largely be split between his role as a journalist and service as a political communicator at the state and national levels. Background in Journalism Caulfield's initial exposure to journalism took place in the mid-1960s through two affiliated newspapers in Suffolk County, New York. It was in 1974, while editor of The News-Review, that he led that publication's staff to an award from the National Editorial Foundation of Washington, D.C. for editorial excellence and community service. Around this same period, he founded and managed ELI News Bureau, a multi-media, regional news service on Long Island's East End, serving, among other outlets, the Associated Press and Newsday. He became well known for a tenacious reporting style and keen understanding of the area's legendary standing as a resort community. His tours of political service included time as a Congressional campaign press relations operative, budget analyst for the Wisconsin State Senate, five years as a Capitol Hill communications specialist and 25 years working for federal agencies.

Award for Social Media Site; Creating His Own

In 2011, he and his three-person digital team were presented by the GSA Commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) that agency's highest employee award for creating Interact, an externally facing social media website that has proven instrumental in client communications. FAS is a government enterprise accounting for billions of dollars in contracts related to services and merchandise. The team also received this same award in 2015 for overseeing Interact’s expansion.

His current passion is the development of his personal website DeeJayCee.com. Among other offerings, the site is hosting a space dedicated to his “Eye of an Angry God,” a novel based on people in/around the village of Westhampton Beach, NY, and that area's very real encounter with the massively devastating Hurricane of 1938.

My Girl Moment Lastly, he’d like you to know that in the summer of 2000 he had the chance to fulfill a life-long dream. D.J. appeared on stage at the Wolf Trap Performing Arts Center with the Temptations performing “My Girl.”
