Conversation Through Journalism

I was drawn to working for newspapers early in life. It gave me an opportunity to communicate on a large scale to an audience composed of a diverse, yet opinionated population.

College Campus Newspaper Editor

Worked with a talented team that together overhauled the entire publication, Compass, during the turbulent late 1960's. Among the featured contributing writers were William F. Buckley, a well-known conservative, and a host of Left-of-Center activists. Achieving balance was a challenge but we seemed to succeed.

Assorted clips from twelve years as reporter, editor and news service owner

Began in mail room and ended up as editor of local newspaper, The News-Review. As owner/operator of regional news service, ELI News Bureau, took assignments from about a dozen news outlets covering Eastern Long Island (NY), including Newsday and the Associated Press.
